14 December 2015 by Kubiak Team
As 2015 comes to a close, it’s safe to say that in the year Kubiak turned 25, we’ve never been so busy. We thought we’d give you a rundown of our shenanigans, so here’s what the Kubiak office got up to in 2015…
Although we’re sworn to secrecy, we can tell you that we got involved in our first large nationwide property portfolio, which was an incredibly exciting challenge for Kubiak and one we successfully accomplished within the time frame, 007 style!
Our first step into healthcare
We love nothing better than a vast and challenging project, and our first step into healthcare promised just that. We were given the opportunity to brand and produce a full set of marketing literature for a new Health Centre in Bristol. We took the project on with typical Kubiak gusto, and it proved extremely successful; the building has recently launched with our branding peppered throughout, including a new website, stationery, uniforms and mugs as well as a 6 meter high illustration in the reception! The success of the project lead to the design and development of individual practice websites for Eastville Medical Practice (live) and Maytree Health Centre (launching early 2016). Now we’ve had a taste of the sector, we’re looking to expand our health centre portfolio in 2016.
Retail portfolio growth
We’re pleased to say that the news is spreading about Kubiak’s interest and ability to be creative within the retail industry. Tasked with creating original, customer-centric design and usability, we produced the branding, signage and website for the Warminster shopping centre, ‘Three Horseshoes Walk’. The success of the project has lead to a number of quotation requests for further centres around the country… So watch this space!
When a building has stood empty for a number of years and you’re tasked with giving it a new and exciting identity, you have to think strategically and creatively. Kubiak were brought on board to assist the relaunch of a large industrial warehouse in Avonmouth, which had slipped off people’s radars. We put our heads together to create a captivating refreshed brochure and website and an engaging and useful promotional gift, which soon drummed up the excitement and intrigue it deserved. Now firmly back on the scene, the building is already under offer.
Keeping it local
We love to support our local community whenever and wherever possible. So when the opportunity arose to rebrand and build a website for the Clevedon Chamber of Commerce, we jumped on it. You can see the results here: clevedonchamber.co.uk
Expanding further into London and the home counties
It’s no secret that Kubiak have always been involved in projects along the M4 corridor, but this year we’ve seen a big increase in these opportunities, with Kubiak now well-known and recommended around the London markets. Natashia and Matthew can be spotted in and around the big smoke on a weekly basis and if it carries on the way it’s going, 2016 may be the start of a London address!
Doing our bit
This year we took part in the annual BPAA Cyclosportive, whereby the whole Kubiak team donned their helmets to take park in a 30-mile charity bike ride to help raise money for Above and Beyond. Our legs may have ached, our bottoms may have numbed, but it was well worth it!
You may already know that every time we print a brochure we plant a tree. It’s a simple act but it definitely makes a difference. This year we planted 55 trees following the print of 55 brochure projects – proof that even though web is growing, we all still love print!
We’re always growing our business and expanding our team, and this year we welcomed our newest member of staff, Alex. This super cheery chap has joined us as a Graduate Web Developer and he’s already proven to be a brilliant addition to the team. Thank you Alex!
A sweet treat
We like to do things differently, so to say thank you to our Bristol clients, the city in which Kubiak originated, we sent an ice cream van with free icy treats. It seems we hit the right note, because over 500 ice creams were scoffed! You may want to listen out for the jingle of the ice cream van next summer.
So there you have it – a super busy year crammed full of exciting developments, challenging and successful projects and an unusually large quantity of ice cream! We’d like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year, and thank you for all your support and loyalty. We very much look forward to working with everyone in 2016.
