Eastville Medical Practice & Maytrees Medical Practice
Brand / Logo Design / Website / Signage / Illustration / Stationery / Uniform
This exciting project marked Kubiak’s first step into the healthcare sector, so when we were approached to rebrand the much-anticipated Eastville Health Centre, we grabbed the opportunity by the horns.
Ten years in the making, the new centre has replaced the existing one, with the two practices – Eastville Medical Practice and Maytrees Medical Practice – now coexisting under one roof. It will also bring in other local healthcare professionals such as anti-natal, speech therapy and podiatry etc., making the project an important development within the community.
Kubiak were brought on board to shake up the centre’s identity completely, giving it a new name, a new brand and a new logo. Quite understandably, the client wanted to promote health and vitality rather than illness, and engage the multi-cultural community of all ages. So they needed a modern, fresh, eye-catching design that would bring the community together and stand the test of time.
As our first step into the healthcare sector, this was an incredibly interesting project for us to get our teeth into. Working within a different market and with a different demographic of people gave us the opportunity to look at a more varied creative direction. And as you’ll see by the process and results, our enthusiasm really paid off…
Creating a brand which encompasses Eastville and Maytrees required an extensive thought process to ensure we hit all the right points – contemporary design, longevity, culture and community. We also needed to take into account the inclusion of other healthcare professionals, which meant creating a brand that would do justice to three individual identities, whilst allowing them to hold their own.
An undertaking of this size requires lots of communication. Various meetings took place to ensure everybody was on the same page, giving us a fantastic opportunity to guide the client through the creative process and also glean as much input from them as possible in terms of their expectations. The overall process was really enjoyable and we gained a great deal from it.
The successful rebrand included new stationery, uniform, wayfinding and signage in and around the new site, and – of course – a new name that reflected both practices: East Trees Health Centre. This also led to the two medical centres requesting their own rebrand, all of which have been extremely well received, which shows just how strong the main overarching brand has become.
The project required a new website for the centre, which needed to reflect the new brand identity, be extremely user-friendly and also adaptable in today’s web requirements. We delivered a site that blows the healthcare sector’s normally unimaginative identity out the water, allowing the user to navigate freely and easily around a crisp and clean design. Plus, the new website enables the centre to manage its various activities efficiently – an absolute must in this kind of industry.
The success of the East Trees website led very quickly to the requirement of a complete rebuild of the two main practice websites. They saw how impactful a well designed website can be, and asked us to bring the websites’ design and usability up to date for both mobile and tablet format. The sites are pivotal in how the practices run and we’re pleased to say that the response has been great.
As the project progressed, the client decided it would be great to pay tribute to the building and its new identity with a wall mural for the main reception area. This was a fantastic opportunity for us as we could put our designer Emily’s exceptional illustration skills to use.
Standing over 20ft tall, it’s truly a sight to behold and something we’re really proud of. As with the rest of the project, the feedback has been fantastic. This was yet another example of how this exciting project has given Kubiak the opportunity to flex our creative muscles and show a full range of our capabilities.
This was, for Kubiak, a big and bold step into the healthcare sector, and a successful one at that. The project has been an absolute joy from start to finish and seeing everybody’s hard work pay off has been very satisfying. By working alongside other professionals to achieve the end goal – architects, health professionals, uniform suppliers, sign writers, etc. – we’ve been able to build up great working relationships with some truly talented people.
The best part, however, is hearing how much the team at East Trees love the creative we’ve produced – they’ve really embraced our ideas and it seems the community are also very much on board. For us at Kubiak, our initiation into the healthcare sector has been incredibly exciting and we very much hope we can explore this particular area more in the future.
