The Foundation was started in memory of our founder George Kubiak. In 2010, at the age of 59, George was diagnosed with frontal temporal dementia. He sadly died 11 years later, after celebrating his 70th birthday.

George’s wife, Victoria, was determined to understand his ‘dementia world’ and to see him flourish within his illness' limitations. Finding few places that he and the family could visit and feel safe, understood and relaxed, Victoria decided to set out not just to help him, but others with dementia too. So, in 2019 the Kubiak Dementia Foundation was formed.

Through uplifting and safe event days for all generations, the Foundation exists with the aim to put a smile on the faces of those living with dementia, their families and carers. The Foundation brings together people with similar experiences and to provide volunteers with invaluable understanding and guidance on looking after their loved ones.
